Reduced game-speed settings give players more time to react, plan, aim, or complete inputs. They differ from difficulty settings because they change how quickly the action unfolds rather than simply changing enemy health or damage.
Access needs and preferences vary. Slower gameplay can also change animation timing, audio, and the overall feel of a game.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted includes a built-in Half Speed setting. When enabled, the gameplay-speed button cycles through 0.5x, 0.8x, 1.0x, and 1.3x speeds instead of the standard faster options.
The setting must be enabled from the main menu. It cannot be activated through the in-game pause menu.
EA documents the feature in its Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted accessibility guide. The guide covers PC and console editions, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor calls its feature Slow Mode. Players can toggle it manually, assign it to a shortcut, or have it activate automatically when combat begins.
A separate Slow Dilation setting controls how strongly the game is slowed. This allows players to adjust the effect rather than relying on a single predetermined speed.
EA’s platform-specific accessibility guides document Slow Mode for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The current documentation only describes automatic activation when entering combat; it does not state that every exploration or platforming section triggers it automatically.
DEATHLOOP
DEATHLOOP allows the game to run at 75 or 50 percent of its normal speed. The adjustment affects combat, player movement, and enemy animations.
Players can keep the slower speed continuously active or assign it to a toggle. The control binding is available for both keyboard and controller.
The setting was added through Game Update 3 and is available only in single-player mode. Online and Friends modes continue to use the default speed. Bethesda provides the complete details in the official DEATHLOOP update notes for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5 includes a Game Speed Modification setting that reduces the speed of races and other driving activities.
The important limitation is that reduced game speed works only while playing offline. It is unavailable during online multiplayer, where every participant must remain synchronized.
The official Xbox accessibility overview confirms the feature for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam. Xbox does not specify the available speed percentages on that page.
Days Gone Remastered
Days Gone Remastered provides four Game Speed options: 100, 75, 50, and 25 percent. These settings affect regular gameplay, including combat against large groups of enemies.
The feature is confirmed for the PlayStation 5 remaster in the official Days Gone Remastered accessibility overview.
Bend Studio states that most of the remaster’s new accessibility features were also added to the PC edition through Patch 1.08 or later. However, the article does not individually confirm that Game Speed is included on PC, so the PlayStation 5 version is the reliably documented implementation.
All five features are built into their respective games and do not require mods. Check the current accessibility or gameplay menu because availability may depend on the game mode, platform, or installed update.
