Far Cry 6 includes built-in presets that activate groups of related accessibility settings. Players can combine presets, change the individual options they activate, or configure the game without using a preset.
The presets are starting points rather than separate difficulty modes. They cover motion, color, cognition, motor controls, hearing, and vision.
Motion Preset
The Motion Preset reduces camera shake and controller vibration. It also disables motion blur, poisoned and drunken screen effects, and sniper-reticle sway.
These options can be adjusted individually. Disabling repeated camera shake does not necessarily remove every movement produced by character, weapon, vehicle, or scripted animations.
Motor and One-Handed Controls
The Motor Preset strengthens aiming assistance, reduces camera shake, disables vibration, changes repeated presses to single presses, converts holds to toggles, and moves actions away from analog-stick clicks.
Far Cry 6 also includes left-handed controls and separate one-handed layouts for the left or right side of a controller. The Combine Move and Look option places movement and camera control on one stick.
Players can change control mappings for on-foot play, vehicles, menus, and minigames. Actions can be assigned to a press, hold, double press, or two-button combination. Stick responsiveness, camera sensitivity, vehicle steering sensitivity, and vibration intensity can also be adjusted.
Hearing and Sound Information
The Hearing Preset enables sound-effect captions with an on-screen directional pointer. These captions can identify selected gameplay sounds and show their approximate direction and distance.
Subtitles support adjustable sizes and opaque, translucent, or absent backgrounds. Speaker names can be displayed and color-coded according to whether a character is friendly, hostile, or connected to a mission.
Far Cry 6 also provides separate volume controls for dialogue, music, radio, and sound effects. Its dynamic-range options include a night mode intended to reduce differences between louder and quieter sounds. Speech-to-text can transcribe a co-op partner’s voice chat in the heads-up display.
Vision and Interface Settings
The Vision Preset increases interface and font sizes, enlarges subtitles, adds stronger subtitle backgrounds, outlines enemies and items, reduces distracting camera effects, and enables menu narration.
Menu narration reads interface elements selected with the cursor. The narrator’s voice, speed, and volume can be changed. This is interface narration rather than continuous audio description or narration of all gameplay activity.
Enemy and collectible outlines have adjustable colors. Players can also change reticle position, thickness, and color and customize the colors of individual interface elements.
Cognitive and Information Controls
The Cognitive Preset combines aim assistance, larger interface elements, simplified inputs, reduced vibration, lower audio dynamic range, stronger subtitle backgrounds, and speaker names.
Individual heads-up display elements can be shown or hidden. These include objectives, enemy and ally icons, interaction prompts, health information, detection feedback, collection notifications, tutorials, the minimap, and other on-screen information.
Using Presets as a Starting Point
Activating a preset does not lock its settings. Multiple presets can be combined, and individual options can be changed afterward. This allows players to keep useful parts of a preset without accepting every change it makes.
Read the official Far Cry 6 accessibility information for the complete settings list. Available controls may differ according to platform, input device, display hardware, and whether the player is using solo or cooperative features.
Access needs and preferences vary. These settings provide additional control, but their presence does not mean that every part of Far Cry 6 will be accessible to every player.
